How can I purchase Old Saybrook Beach Passes?
 
Starting in 2016 certain Old Saybrook beach passes may be purchased online at OldSaybrookBeach.CityHallSystems.com. At this web site you may purchase beach parking passes for residents and permanent renters only. You can pay for your passes with a VISA, Mastercard or Discover credit or debit card. You may also purchase Old Saybrook beach passes at the Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation office, 308 Main St.
What are the Hours of Operation of the Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation Office?
 
The Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00am - 4:30pm; Wednesday from 10:00am - 4:30pm; and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
What is the process to obtain the beach passes?
 
Online:
Once you have completed and submitted the beach pass application, you will receive an email notification of your order. Upon verification of your information, you will receive an email that your order has been successfully processed and mailed . Usually, passes will be mailed within a week of receipt of your application.
In person:
Bring in driver's license for resident verification. Passes can be purchased with a check made payable to the Town of Old Saybrook Parks & Recreation Department (O.S.P.R.) or by credit card.
Why do you need my driver's license when applying?
 
In order to verify your status as a resident, we need to use your driver's license to check our databases. We will never divulge or provide your personal information, including your driver's license number, to any third party except as may be required by law.

Who can apply for a Old Saybrook Beach Parking Pass?
 
Old Saybrook beach parking passes will only be issued to vehicles registered to a Old Saybrook property owner/taxpayer, or a renter with a year-round lease. Permanent renters will need to provide a driver's license, lease agreement, utility bill or other adequate verification of residency to purchase passes. Lease agreements must indicate yearly rental to qualify. If your property is not held in the name of the owner applying for pass, sufficient documention to allow for verification of applicant's ownership will need to be provided, such as proof of beneficiary ownership of LLC or trust.
May I get a Beach Parking Pass if I own a Business in Old Saybrook?
 
A non-resident business owner who owns the property where the business is located may apply for one (1) beach parking pass. The business owner needs to provide verification of business ownership. Employees of said business who do not live in Old Saybrook will not be issued beach parking passes.
How many Passes can a Dockominium Owner Obtain?
 
Owners of a dockominium on Ferry Road may apply for one (1) resident beach parking pass. The pass is valid for both Town Beach and Harvey's Beach.
How many Passes for their Guest to use can Inns located in Old Saybrook Obtain?
 
Innkeepers may purchase Innkeeper's beach parking passes upon presentation of their request of Inn letterhead. A maximum of ten (10) passes will be issued. Additional passes will not be issued during the season. A fee of $15 will be charged for each pass. Passes are only good at Harvey's Beach. Inn guest must show their room keys with use of the passes.
Who should apply for a Seasonal Renters Beach Parking Sticker?
 
All temporary residents (< 1 year renters) may purchase part-time renter's beach parking passes. Part-time beach parking passes cost $20 for a two (2) week period (maximum of 2 passes covering 4 weeks may be purchased). Part-time beach passes will only be issued with proof of rental. These passes are only valid at Harvey's Beach. These passes may be purchased at the Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation office, 308 Main St. The renter's car registration is required along with rental verification (lease, etc.).
Can Seasonal Visitors Obtain Beach Parking Passes?
 
A season visitor (such as friend who is house sitting, family visitor, vacation nanny, etc.) is not eligible for a beach parking pass. Visitors may use the resident's pass to access the beaches.
Do I qualify for Senior Status?
 
If you are a resident of Old Saybrook and are 62 years old or older when ordering, you qualify for the senior discounted pricing. We require that you provide us with your driver's license number so we can verify your age.
Do I need a Beach Parking Pass for My Motorcycle?
 
Yes, registered motorbikes are required to have a beach parking pass.
Where does the Recreational Beach Parking Pass allow you to Park?
 
Recreational beach parking passes are required for any resident wishing to park at the Town Beach or Harvey's Beach. Part-time renter's passes are only valid at Harvey's Beach.
Is Harvey's Beach Open to the Public?
 
Yes, Harvey's Beach is open to the public. The daily fee is $10 per car weekdays and $20 per car for weekends and holidays. Non-residents may purchase seasonal passes for $150. Up to two (2) cars may be listed on the pass is both cars are owned/registered to the applicant. Bus parking is allowed at Harvey's Beach only with advanced reservation made through the Parks and Recreation Department at a cost of $50 per day (limit 1 bus). These passes may be purchased at the Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation office, 308 Main St.
When are the Beaches Open?
 
Town Beach is located on Plum Bank Road. Town Beach provides swimming and beach activities on Long Island Sound. The beach has restrooms, food services and lifeguards are provided from Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. A beach parking pass issued to a resident or permanent renter is required for access.

Harvey's Beach welcomes the public and provides access to Old Saybrook's waterfront. Harvey's Beach is located on Great Hammock Road and Long Island Sound. The beach has changing rooms, restrooms, playground, and lifeguards. All Old Saybrook beach passes are accepted, and non-residents may access the beach. Non-residents may pay the daily admission fee or purchase a seasonal pass. The beach is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting.
Where do I place my Pass on my Car?
 
All passes must be affixed to the inside of your car's front windshield on the lower left hand driver's side with the adhesive supplied on the pass. Passes taped to a window are not valid. Passes are not transferable.
What do I do if I need a Replacement Passes?
 
Replacement passes can be obtained at the Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation office, 308 Main St.. There is a $50 charge for replacement passes.
